Good Morning or Good Afternoon or Good Evening,
this post should take four minutes to seven minutes to read from start to finish.
While Jacob and I was in Utah together during my first international vacation; Jacob and I eventually met each other at Salt Lake City - International airport in a day prior to my 22nd Birthday.
We went skiing for the first date because I have always wanted to go skiing one day. Afterwards, we had lunch together. We went somewhere to get dressed into church clothes and we went to Provo City Temple. It was a fun experience to go Provo City Temple as a second date.
I felt the strong promptings from the Holy Ghost in Celestial Room and Jacob was able to be with me to comforted me because when I felt those strong promptings, I cried a little. Sometime after the sealing session; we spent more time together outside the Temple.
While we were taking some photos together, my Dad has called me to wish me a “Happy Birthday”. We spoke about other things too. I have suggested to Jacob that he can say “hi” but he did not want to say anything. Sometime after that phone call; Jacob and I went to visit a friend who used to live locally in Provo.
There was something that Jacob has mentioned to that friend and it was exactly what that friend needed to hear at the time. I can not remember what has been said. Afterwards; Jacob and I went to Denny’s (24 hours dining in restaurant) for our dinner.
I had a burger that has bacon in it. I somehow liked consuming the bacon over in US than I did back at home in Australia. Jacob has video recorded my experience of eating my first American burger. Looking back at that video, it makes me and Jacob smile about that experience.
Sometime after dinner; Jacob has dropped me off to my friend’s house where I was staying at during the vacation and Jacob drove to sleep overnight at his Aunt’s house. I was really looking forward to what I had in store for my 22nd Birthday. Brief summary of what Jacob and I have accomplished on my 22nd Birthday.
Jacob has gotten me some breakfast - it was bacon and eggs. Jacob has mentioned to me “I got you some bacon because I knew that you have liked bacon from last night.” I thought “that is nice and how thoughtful.” After he picked me up from my friend’s house; Jacob and I went to Orriquah Mountain Temple.
We have attended a great session despite of the waiting time for about an hour, we focused on getting some of my family files done. We met each other in the Celestial Room and it was good to have Jacob by my side. Sometime afterwards; we went to Salt Lake City Temple.
I have always wanted to go there since I was a young girl or at least during my teenage years while I was still in young womens. Jacob and I have attended sealing session and I have felt the spirit so strong. Afterwards, we went to Celestial Room and again I have felt the spirit so strong. I am grateful for having Jacob by my side.
Afterwards; Jacob and I went to The Roof Restaurant (located at Joseph Smith Memorial Building) for buffet dinner and dessert.
I still remember to my surprise that Jacob has surprised me really good after dinner and dessert. He got me roses. No guys ever had gotten me roses before. It made me so happy to see those roses. It was for early Valentine’s Day. The day after my birthday; Jacob and I went to my friend’s stake conference.
My friend suggested for Jacob to teach me and supervise me driving on the RIGHT (correct) side of the road. Jacob and I went somewhere that was about 25 minutes or so drive away from my friend’s house. When it was time for Jacob and I to switch drivers; I felt nervous and scared.
Jacob has helped me to build confidence of driving on the right side of the road (I was so used to driving on the left side of the road in Australia). It was not too bad at all although it seems like most road rules in US are the same in Australia but it is the opposite (such as instead of keep left in Australia, it is keep right in US).
If you can't see the Image for this post, it says "Always together, never apart. Maybe in distance, but never in heart."
Fast forward to summary in July 2018;
Jacob flew to Australia for a short two weeks vacation. I have picked him up and dropped him off at Brisbane airport. Bek - my youngest sister has video recorded the moment when Jacob and I have finally reunited again at the airport after over three months of being with each other in person.
He has met some of my relatives for the first time. Jacob was my date for Annual Young Single Adult (YSA) Ball and while we were at the Ball, I’ve introduced Jacob to some of my friends who have attended at the Ball.
Jacob and I went to North Stradbroke Island together, and we have attended a session together at Brisbane Temple. I have introduced Jacob to try out some Australian fast foods (KFC, Subway, Domino’s, Cold Rock, etc). I have introduced Jacob of Australian fish and chips. Jacob loved Subway - he has ordered Greek Lamb with tzatziki sauce.
Fast forward to summary between late October to Thanksgiving Day in 2018; Jacob and I went bowling together, Jacob and I have attended a session at Dallas Temple, Jacob proposed to me, I have experienced early Thanksgiving for the first time, I have met some of Jacob’s relatives. We had our engagement photos taken, we went to two different theme parks in one day - Movie World and Wet N Wild, we went to Mermaid Beach (Jacob may have gotten stung by a type of jellyfish), we went to Ripley’s Believe It Or Not at the Gold Coast.
